It exudes a rustic tropical charm with its thatched roof, stone and gravel floor, bamboo furniture and decorations by local artisans, nicely dressed dinner tables and home-style cooking by professional Dominican chefs. Silvia, the restaurant owner, treats her clients as guests in her home, providing the hospitality and attention to culinary detail that she brings from her native Uruguay and her adoptive country, USA. The menu has been developed to appeal to the diverse tastes of its international patrons, with several dishestypical of Mediterranean cuisine. Each plate is cooked with great care and high quality ingredients, including canola, olive oil or transfat free margarine. The meats are lean, the seafood of the highest quality available and the vegetables are thoroughly cleaned. House specialties include some delicious appetizers like Humus, Tabbouleh and a refreshing Cucumber Yogurt Salad. Dinner entrées, among others, include the island's typical Mero al Coco (grouper with coconut sauce) and Grilled Langostinos (Caribbean baby lobster), as well as other seafood, chicken and pasta dishes. During high season, other dishes are added regularly as daily specials. We appreciate dinner reservations for groups of 5 or more.
